New Educational Workshops Hosted In-Person By HPFS

All workshops are FREE and must be pre-registered.  The clinics will be open to register 9 days before the start date and close 1 day before the clinic date. The link for registration and Clinic descriptions are down below. 

 In the case of inclement weather closures, a make up day has been scheduled for each individual Workshop. 


 

New HPFS participants will need to be entered into our gym management software system, WellnessLiving. Check out our Getting Started guide for the necessary forms and instructions.

  • Once entered as a new member, you will receive a welcome email. Please follow the instructions in the email to update your password (this email is active for 24 hours).
  • After you are entered into the system you will have access to sign up for workshops or group classes.

Balance & Stability

January 24th @ 2pm in RM 6

 

  • In this workshop, we will discuss the importance of balance as we age as well as other factors that can impair our balance. There will be time at the end to go over some of the bodyweight movements to increase balance and core stability.

  • Proper weightlifting form will be the focus of this workshop. We will discuss the 4 main movements: Push, Pull, Squat, and Hinge. Multiple movements will be described throughout the clinic and will end with time for Q&A on strength training or form.

Glute & Pelvic Floor

  • The glute and pelvic floor play a pivotal role in training as well as our bodies' overall health. We will go over the basic anatomy of the pelvis as well as glute and hip-specific exercises. Learning proper diaphragmatic breathing will be involved along with the importance of mobility throughout the Lumbar Pelvic Hip Complex.

Recovery Work

April 11th @ 2pm

  • Prioritizing recovery work, sleep and hydration is just as important if not more than your training regime. This workshop will discuss different techniques used for muscle recovery and how to effectively use foam rollers for self-myofascial rolling. Proper hydration and tips for quality sleep will also be reviewed to give a solid overall plan to incorporate into your wellness journey.
