Julie R. Neal

Julie Reed Neal has a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology and is a Licensed Psychological Associate.  She completed both her undergraduate and graduate degrees at Appalachian State University and has been practicing in Boone since 1991 in community mental health, private practice and the public school system. She started at Counseling for Faculty and Staff in 2009. Julie enjoys working with adults, teens and children and works with individuals, families and couples. She is a certified Positive Discipline Parent Educator and offers parenting support in individual sessions as well as in various types of groups. Julie is trained in EMDR (Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and uses this in her work to support those who have experienced trauma and difficult life experiences, including challenging family of origin issues. She encourages people to see and focus on their strengths to assist healing and personal growth.
