Mammograms are a pivotal tool in the early detection of breast cancer. Our screenings are conducted in a comfortable and supportive environment, prioritizing your well-being and providing peace of mind.
HPFS is honored to be able to host monthly on-campus mammogram screenings for App State faculty, staff, retirees, and their immediate family members. Mammograms are offered through partnership with Novant Breast Center of Winston Salem to meet the needs of our campus community.
Eligibility
- All ladies must be at least 40 years of age to participate.
- You cannot have a screening if you have had a mammogram within the last 12 months.
- The Breast Center is unable to screen women who
- do not have a Primary Care Physician/OB/GYN
- have breast implants
- are pregnant
- are breastfeeding
- have a personal history of breast cancer.

An appointment is required.
3-D mammography screenings are conducted by the Novant Health Breast Center of Winston Salem.

The fee is filed with your health insurance provider, including the State Health Plan, Medicare, and others. You must bring your insurance card and a photo ID to your appointment.
Results are provided to you and your healthcare provider.
2024 Mammogram Dates
Mammogram screening events take place on the App State Boone Campus in front of Varsity Gym on the Rivers St. side. However, due to construction on campus this summer, please be aware there is the possibility of the August Mobile taking place in the Legends parking lot. The specific location information will be provided before the scheduled event.
